Bunker and MARPOL fuel surcharges effective from 28.6.2010
Bunker fuel surcharge
Dear Customer,
The fluctuations in the crude oil market have led to a decrease in the price of
bunker oil used by our vessels.
Therefore we will adjust our bunker surcharge from the present 36.6%
(effective from 31 May 2010) to 34.8% with effect from 28 June 2010.
Marpol fuel surchargeAs from 19.05.2006 shipping lines calling MARPOL area in the Baltic are forced to
use low-sulphur fuel of 1.5%, both in the Baltic and North Sea service, due to normal
bunkering practise. This extra MARPOL surcharge is invoiced in addition to our present bunker clause.
The MARPOL fuel surcharge of 1.8% valid from 6 March 2009 will remain unchanged.
New bunker fuel surcharge scale with effect from July 2010
According to the MARPOL Annex VI regulation, the maximum allowed sulphur content in the
fuel oil for vessels operating in the Baltic, the North Sea and the Channel will be 1,0 % with
effect from 1 July 2010.
Due to aforementioned changes in the regulations, we will adjust our bunker fuel surcharge
scale in the beginning of July and consequently announce the first update of the actual surcharge
14 days before the adjustment.
